Happy Turkey/Tofu/Bird Day!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wishing all of you a wonderful thanksgiving day filled with delicious food, family, friends and lots of love & laughter.

We had such a lovely thanksgiving with my side of the family (for once!), it was soo nice to catch up with family I rarely get to see anymore! Marriage really changes things, sad, but true. I am going to make it more of a priority to spend more quality time with my side of the family. Kiara misses my family SO much and although Ryan would rather sit in front of the TV watching the game, I would rather spend time with the people I love the most, family. I think as the holidays approach us, I will make plans to attend religious services with my mom. I was SO good about this, but all of a sudden (once again) my husband turned so Anti-EVERYTHING (mostly everything in regards to religion--you see... he was forced to go to church as a child and forced into catholic school, so was I, but I managed to rebel against it when I entered public school)! GOod thing I got that out of my system young, lol! *sigh*, I shouldn't let his negativity affect our beliefs. He knows not to discuss the church around my mom because my mom will rip him a new one. Anyhoo, Happy Thanksgiving ya'll. Be thankful for good health, family, good friends, and most of all delicious food!!!

Earlier in the day while picking up a few ingredients from whole foods, I tried to explain to Kiara was thanksgiving was all about. I wanted to give her more of a visual interpretation as she is only 2 years old, so I brought up a little story about the indians and the pilgrims and being thankful for good friends, family and other things. I think she understood? At least I hope so! I think I will go find a book on it, so she can understand the holiday a little more. lol. This is exactly how I learned it, so I hope it works, lol! I just hope she doesn't think its just a typical day where you eat a big ol' turkey and lots of pumpkin pie!

Speaking of food, I made my first pumpkin pie, and it turned out SO well!!! I actually made two of them and its a good thing I did because my aunt wanted to take the whole pie home! I also made homemade cranberry sauce and artichoke dip (hubby's favorite). Can you tell I really wanted to host this year? It practically took me the entire day to cook, so we weren't able to stop at my lovely mother-in-law's for her traditional Xmas photo as my little one decided on a nap instead. However, today is the day! We plan to go ice skating.. WOohoo! Can't wait.
