Updates: WHY I was MIA + Pre-Tweens + American Girl + Dog Rescue

My little one is not so little anymore. Now, she's obsessed with American Girl, Littlest Pet Shop, Shopping, Sugar, iPods, Makeup, and God knows what else pre-tween girls are completely obsessed with. Some days, I wish I could turn back time and go back to our park days where we would just stroll through the park. The one good thing is now my little one is involved with the American Girl Fashion Show. She actually models now too. I am so proud of her. She really loves to volunteer for non-profit organizations and help those in need. Aside of that, she volunteer for animal rescue organizations. She convinced me to foster puppies so we're enjoying raising puppies in hopes of them finding loving homes. It's nice to be back to my original blog. So much has happened since.... i think when I originally started this blog, I was going through a divorce so I may have said some mean things and I probably meant everything. Everything has finally fallen into place now and I couldnt be happier! I appreciate all of the support along the way! Hope you all have a wonderful evening!

Did your Childhood Suck? Become a Girl Scout!

My ever-so-sweet-and-thoughtful-ex-husband once told me my childhood probably sucked, but when I really thought about it, I realized he was probably just talking to himself in the mirror as usual. The good news is my family didn't heavily medicate me because I wasn't ADD or hyper, thank god. I guess, my problem really was being WAY too spoiled and WAY too Shy? My father was a multi-millionaire when his parents passed away so naturally, I was given pretty much e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g I had ever wished and hoped for, but that didn't last very long. My grandmother also pretty much worshipped the ground I walked on - I miss her to this day.

So, I guess, my childhood didn't really suck too bad. I didn't have any siblings to steal my toys until I was much older. Then again, I was part of the divorced generation, so I guess, it did suck after all. But my life wasn't too dysfunctional.

After jumping on the 'celebrity bandwagon' myself because I couldn't deal with living with a control freak who didn't let me leave the house to go grocery shopping. After being a devoted stay-at-home-mother-and-wife and volunteering my entire life towards my child's preschool, then getting screwed over by my ex and lawyer, I figured, I need to get over the drama and become less co-dependent. I pretty much picked myself up off the ground and started a new life. Now, I am so much more happier and living a more healthy lifestyle. It took a little while to rebuild, but I finally did it on my own - without the help of any douchebags - Now, I consider myself a great example for my daughter. I would never want her to depend on any man and be treated like dirt. Now that she's getting older, I am becoming WAY, WAY, WAY more involved in my daughters everyday life - although - I don't get to see her everyday. But, she's becoming Agency Model Status now? So I need to be there to guide her every step of the way! :)

This year, I decided to sign up as a volunteer for girls scouts troop. I probably don't volunteer enough with all of these hundreds charity fashion shows, feeding the homeless, and events, right? Well, I decided to sit back and take a break from smaller scale projects and focus on larger projects now. However, my main priority now is my daughter.. so everyone else can just take a number.

Now that I'm a girl scout Milf + Soccer Mom, I deserve some sort of VIP treatment for all my hard work? I guess, maybe once I sign up for the GS lifetime membership? And, hopefully they include a few complimentary uniforms, day spa packages and what else do girl scouts do - crochet lessons? I guess, I'm just really ecstatic to earn those cute, little badges and medals. I can't wait to build my first fire... oh wait, that may be a cub scout?

Anyway, enough with the arts and crafts, I'm WAY more excited about styling our outfits and color coordinating with just about everything. I've already starting coordinating a few outfits with storyboards with nice, shiny penny loafers, clutch purses and matching accessories. Perhaps, a fur wrap too along with a nice béret? I can't wait to style my little one and myself. I think we should consider mother/daughter girl scout photo opts soon. I suppose, its not just about leather and lace this season nor is it about black and white ensembles from the Jason Wu Runway Collection. It's all about being a trendsetter and becoming the next Daisy GirlScout MILF! Soccermoms and minivans are SO overrated, right? I think I'm ready for my next MILF challenge.

If I have to help sell cookies this year, I may as well dress like one of them. I've posted a few ideas. I'm even tempted to ask BEG one of my designer friends to custom make something cute and stylish. I'm definitely looking forward to my first girl scout meeting today. Will definitely keep you posted :) ciao!

Yours,

Happy Hump Day!

Good Morning World! My puppy and I are ready to start our fabulous VIP Day! Here's a little glimpse of what we both look like when we first wake up in the morning with bed head and all! We kind of look alike, don't we? :) Perhaps, we both need to look into getting our hair 'did soon? With Bed head & All, we still look Fabulous no matter what! <3 Now that it's Wednesday... and the weekend is almost here.... we may consider planning a romantic getaway for two or maybe three ;) (we may need a chauffeur)! Do you happen to have any recommendations on where we should go? My boo boo enjoys long walks by the beach, he's obsessed with sniffing other dogs in the rear and trying to hump them even though.... he knows he'll never score due to his short stature. He prefers the large size meat-head-husky types - he's such a player though. Anyway, we'll keep you posted on our weekend travels! :) So... stay tuned!

Is Starbucks Making YOU FAT?

Photo Credit: www.fatkidatcamp.com Yesterday, I decided I was tired of taking the 28L to do grocery shopping and walking to appointments, so I did what anyone else would do - Car Shop! I really didn't want to go car shopping especially since I was recently in the worst imaginable car accident known to mankind and nearly lost my life. I was very lucky to survive and rushed to ER! Anyway, being rear ended in the middle of 280 Northbound really sucks. I also don't recommend it to anyone especially considering the incident was a hit & run (Those Jerks!!) Special Thank you CHIP for doing Absolutely NOTHING about it even with a witness present! Remind me to call my uncle the homicide detective next time rather than CHP, mmk! Alas, its been nice burning calories walking everywhere and not having to depend on driving a vehicle. I love being eco-friendly especially when it comes down to supporting local businesses and meeting likeminded dog lovers on our daily walks with Coco. During my fun-filled day of avoiding being ripped off by dealerships especially while checking out the luxury car section - BMW, Infiniti, Mercedes.. do I really want to spend a fortune on maintenance? I don't think so. I did anything in my power to let them know I really wanted to leave and did not agree to putting $3800 down on a used vehicle. After about 2 hours, I decided to leave and asked for the nearest starbucks. As I was walking out the door to the street.. i notice the sales guy pull up to ask if i'd like a ride - WTF, Seriously?! Ugh, I felt trapped and like there was no turning back. So fine.. I got in the car, went to starbucks (even tho I'm not much of a huge fan anymore). I merely used it as an excuse to leave the dealership. The sales guy was nice to even offer me complimentary drink of my choice but i decided to purchase my own. Looking at the menu... the only thing i could see was high fructose corn syrup, trans fat, artificial coloring, dyes, etc. Since I'm trying to really take care of myself and get back in shape after my car accident, i decided to get the passion fruit ice tea instead. They always ask - would you like Syrup? Do I look like I really want high fructose corn syrup if I'm not trying to order a frap with extra whip cream? No, Thank you. Then, I realized... maybe thats why a lot of people are overweight because of their high calorie drinks? So I did what i do best and googled
According to backinskinnyjeans.com, one of the most high calorie drinks is the Venti White Chocolate Blended Creme Frappuccino (without whipped creme) at 630 calories and 9g of fat. Adding whipped creme willbring the total to 760 calories and 21g of fat. HOLY CRAP!!!!
But Starbucks is really addicting... and all the cool kids go there. So what low fat drinks do the experts recommend? The best drink at starbucks is a regular cup of joe (regular coffee) - you can make it a decaf but avoid the extra junk to avoid the junk in your trunk. A much healthier alternative would be the tazo tea without the sugar. When adding additional ingredients, make sure you request skim milk or even 1% milk. So.. i left starbucks with my passion fruit iced tea frustrated that i still had to purchase these cars at this dealership. While i was thinking of my next excused, I managed to finish my drink within seconds - I must have been really thirsty but then again, its always filled with mainly ice cubes. Next time, no ice. Alas, I escaped starbucks and managed to escape the car dealership after thanking them. Get ready for this.. the dealership had actually kept my drivers license so looks like i may have to return after all. Its too bad I already purchased a new car after visiting them though. Next time, don't scare your customers away and act like psycho stalkers.
This Blog is Inspired by my Facebook Comment to my friend who just so happens to be addicted to American Consumerism aka Starbucks & every other chain: I don't really go to starbucks anymore - it makes people fat, lol! $5 for a cup full of high fructose corn syrup - yuck! - it was really just an excuse to leave the dealership yesterday. I wasn't even expecting the sales guy to stalk me out the door and drive me there.. are people really that desperate to sell cars nowadays? geez.. http://www.ihatestarbucks.com/bb/topic.php?id=1380

OMG, Do you ever get Brain Farts?

After a fun-filled Shopping trip to the Grocery Store yesterday to pick out our favorite girly necessities (mostly dessert items) for our little Girls Night Out at home. We picked out items for our famous Ice Cream Sundae & Cupcakes. We picked up Bananas, Ice Cream, Whipped Cream, Devil's Food Cake mix, cupcake icing (Sky Blue), white sugar pearls sprinkles, 16 Wishes DVD, Twinkle Toes DVD, Alvin and The Chipmunks Chip Wrecked. While walking down the grocery isles, we decided to do our usual ingredient check to avoid anything with high fructose syrup, dextrose, and other artificial ingredients - food color dyes, etc. And, of course, being the OCD-MOM I am - we realized most of the crap items had a TON of ingredients we should be avoiding especially hydrogenated vegetable oil!! After watching the movie Alvin and The Chipmunks, my daughter caught me off guard by asking me about Neurotoxicity! Since I usually only have fashion on my mind, we just HAD to google it! After hours of research, we discovered a few of our ingredients from our selected items were actually listed on BioFeedbacklearning.com's website regarding a few toxins that affect the brain and nervous system. Do you ever get Brain farts or Brain fog? This may answer a few of your questions.

Protect Your Brain from Neurotoxins: AVOID the following food additives: According to medical researcher Russell Blaylock, M.D., the following food additives can permanently damage nerve cells. Biofeedback therapists have observed that EEG biofeedback training, especially for people with attention deficits or head injury, can be substantially set back by consuming any of these, so for good results from neurofeedback, please eliminate the following chemicals from your diet. Aspartame—artificial sweetener, breaks down in the body into methyl alcohol (wood alcohol!) and aspartic acid, eventually formaldehyde. May be implicated in some cases of epilepsy. Artificial flavor Artificial food color (FD&C Blue No. 1, etc.) Monosodium glutamate (MSG; "Accent") According to Russell Blaylock, M.D., the following are Additives that always contain MSG: Hydrolized protein; hydrolyzed vegetable protein; hydrolyzed plant protein Plant protein extract Sodium caseinate Calcium caseinate Yeast extract Textured vegetable protein Autolyzed yeast Hydrolyzed oat flour Additives that frequently contain MSG Malt extract; malt flavoring Bouillon Broth stock Flavoring; natural flavoring; natural beef flavoring; natural chicken flavoring Seasoning Prepared (not fresh) spices Additives that may contain MSG Carrageenan Enzymes Soy protein concentrate Soy protein isolate Whey protein concentrate It may also be valuable to remove coffee, caffeine-laden soft drinks and sugar from the diet. Hidden sources of sugar include corn syrup, high-fructose corn syrup, concentrated fruit juice extract, concentrated grape, pear, or cane juice extracts, "dried organic cane juice," etc. If you suspect some food induces symptoms or cravings, try eliminating it from the diet for at least five days, then eating it alone to test its immediate effect. See: Excitotoxins, The Taste That Kills by Russell Blaylock, M.D., and Is This Your Child? by Doris Rapp, M.D. Source: http://www.biofeedbacklearning.com/excitotoxins.htm
Then I came across this other crap - to scare us even more?
Some of our most nutritious foods are laced with insecticides. It is estimated that children and adults will ingest from 40 to 70 chemicals every day with their meals and snacks. Do you eat grapefruit, melon or fresh oranges from the supermarket? If you do, you're also eating ammonium hydroxide, silicone, isopropanol, shellac, propylene glycol, ethyl alcohol and wood rosin. Do you eat tomatoes, avocados or apples from the supermarket? If you do, you're also eating dimethyl polysiloxane, benzimadazole, mineral oil, methylparaben, thiabendazole, isopropyl alcohol, and more. Sweet potatoes, onions, limes from your super-market? You're eating the fungicides botran, 2-6 dichloro-4-nitroaniline and orthophenylphenol. These "fresh" fruits and vegetables are treated with a wax which includes fungicides. These fungicides are not only on the outside, they are found throughout the food - so you will consume them if you eat the food. These fungicides are known to cause cancer, birth defects, mutations and damaged immune systems. There is simply no chemical-free food supply left. After researching all of this... it appears as though, we'll be going back to our RAW Diet sooner than expected, seriously! And returning the majority of the items that may have accidentally snuck into our grocery shopping cart. Seriously, though, do you even know what you people are feeding your kids? And how badly it may be affecting them?! I am pretty sure the majority of us are already pretty screwed up especially, if you grew up with family not very knowledgeable with all of this stuff. I am the one to usually educate my family on all of this stuff - so I try to do my best to make sure my daughter eats healthy and organic, preferably (which is not always the cases when eating out at restaurants or visiting family & friends). I will definitely continue to keep all of you updated with our progress on going back to our RAW diet & lifestyle. I would be happy to post recipes soon and update you with RAW Diet Potluck parties, and more! We miss our RAW Diet chefs & Yoga family! :) Please post your comments and subscribe to our blog
