Tyson Gay is "Uncle Jon?"

Tyson Gay

Uncle Jon, see the difference?

Kiara is So Silly! I think she blurts out the most random things for attention. It's not like she doesn't get enough of it, after all, she is our only child. Either way, its just adorable!

Over the weekend, it was all about the Olympics, which is a nice break from our usual Baseball routine. I don't think most of you know this, but I married into a family who is obsessed with sports hence the phrase "Baseball is Life" on their vehicle license plate. Not that it's a bad thing. Baseball is such an awesome sport, but I guess I just never really got into it before, sadly.

Blame it on my parents, who took me to random Dodger baseball games while we lived in L.A. but truly never explained to me what it was all about.

I remember vividly though...being able to eat as much junk food as I could and of course, doing "the wave!"

My late Stepfather "Tito" was very athletic, he played professional Soccer in Uruguay! Everyone looked up to him. He was even a model when he first came to Hollywood. Shortly after, my mother fell for him.. and before you knew it.. they got hitched in Vegas and then I was finally given a little Sister and Brother, Aww!

As much of an athlete he was, he never forced it upon us to be magnificent soccer players, he was fine with us playing dress-up with our barbies. How thoughtful.

Sometimes, I wish I was more into sports though... that way I can understand the sports lingo. My husband must be tired of having to explain every sport to me, but hey, that's what he gets for marrying someone who knows absolutely nothing about sports! :) Hopefully, Kiara will be more educated on the whole sports world. She will make a great little athlete one day and follow in her Uncle Jon's footsteps!

Anyhoo, now that Summer baseball season is over for Uncle Jon's (my brother-in-law in case you are still wondering who Uncle Jon is) Green Bay's Bull Frogs team in Wisconsin. He is a short stop player for Santa Clara University and he is an amazing player! You can read all about him on Google :). I swear he is famous!

But, the truth is, I never liked sports until I married Ryan. I always sucked at P.E. in grade school, and even at St. Ignacius in Los Angeles in 3rd grade, I was teased when I could not manage to hit the ball. I was a total princess and not a tom boy. I was also more into my education than getting dirty with the boys. Therefore, I am now forced to tolerate it since my husband and his family lives and breathes sports on a daily basis. I love them. And I totally enjoy the Giants games too! I just love men in tights, just kidding :)?

I have to admit I wish my husband was a little more open-minded about trying out new things such as the ballet, opera, or a day at Bay Meadows Race Track. I guess I get bored with the usual routines.

I knew there was a point to this blog.... so let's just rewind back to the olympics...shall we? So, Tyson Gay was up and preparing himself for a sprint, when all of a sudden, our sweet little Kiara comes to the living room, where we are sitting down watching T.V. And she must really miss her Uncle Jon since she has not seen him all Summer. So, she blurts out... while the camera is on Tyson Gay..... "UNCLE JON!??"

I think she is really brain washed with baseball because we usually watch Uncle Jon via the College Sports Channel on the internet, which Ryan connects to our TV. So, she automatically associates any athlete to her Uncle Jon. She really thinks he is famous and is a professional athlete. I think he will be one day. :) We found it really funny and entertaining as they look nothing alike. It almost reminded me of when she called the Quaker Oats guy "Grandpa." She truly cracks me up. I think if it wasn't for my little Kiara then, my life would truly be dull.

Thank God for Toddlers.
